Hi, my name is Joe from Speed Karting Warrington and on behalf of GoingKarting.co.uk I would like to take you through some overtaking techniques around the circuit.Remember, overtaking, you can either outbreak a driver in to a corner or you can pass a driver around the outside.

But, to outbreak a driver in to a corner, think for the driver in front of you. Remember, go karts have no wing mirrors and the driver in front of you can't see you coming up behind.

The rule of thumb is, when coming down a straight side by side, you must go along side the driver you are passing, so the driver alongside you can see you before he actually starts to turn in to the corner, so get along side and that then becomes your corner before coming in to the apex.

Remember, when going into the apex, if you're going to do some breaking, do breaking in a straight line. Once you've started to turn if you then brake the kart will spin on you. If you don't brake and you don't reduce your speed on entering that corner on a very tight angle there is the possibility that you will run out of circuit and end up in the tyre wall on the other side.

So once again, think for the driver in front of you, give them room and allow for the fact they don't know you're there.
